THOMAS H NAIL, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Thomas H. Nail is the President, CEO and founder of THOMAS HOUSTON associates, inc. (THA), a human resource management consultancy, which he began in 1978. The firm, whose core business is in equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, serves a nationwide client base from its offices in metropolitan Washington, DC and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A graduate of the University of Buffalo, Tom has been in the human resource field for over thirty years. Since writing his first affirmative action plan in the early 1970’s, Tom and his staff have completed over 7,000 plans for clients in a multitude of industries in both the private and public sectors. He has directed over 450 OFCCP compliance reviews throughout the United States.
A longtime member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Tom served on SHRM’s Workplace Diversity Committee from 1981 to 2000. He assisted in the development and publication of SHRM’s Equal Employment Opportunity Manual for Managers and Supervisors and has authored numerous articles and white papers for SHRM publications. As a member of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program’s National Liaison Committee, he assisted in writing the OFCCP Federal Contract Compliance Manual. He is frequently interviewed and quoted in national human resources publications.
LEWIS G. TUCH, PRESIDENT EMERITUS
Lewis G. Tuch serves as President Emeritus for THOMAS HOUSTON associates, inc. and brings over twenty-five years of Human Resource experience that includes legal compliance - AAP preparation, and compliance reviews - staffing, compensation, benefits, training and organizational development. Prior to joining THA, Lew was a principal with L & G Associates, Inc., a Human Resource management consulting firm, where he was responsible for organizational development projects, workforce assessments, human resources audits, legal compliance and business development. Before Lew's affiliation with L & G Associates, he spent fifteen years with Mobil Corporation. He also held various Human Resource positions with increased responsibilities in areas of legal compliance, recruiting, training, career development, compensation, and organizational development.
MARY C. FRANCZAK, NATIONAL SALES AND CONTRACTS DIRECTOR
Ms. Franczak serves as the Director of National Sales & Contracts for THOMAS HOUSTON associates, inc. Ms. Franczak has over 22 years experience as a Human Resource professional including 17 years in various corporate functions. Throughout her 15 year tenure she has been involved in both the processing of affirmative action plans and the sales and marketing of our services. Prior to joining THA, Ms. Franczak has over 17 years experience in the financial services industry with 12 years in a Human Resource Manager role including management of the affirmative action process. She initiated and developed policies and procedures for all areas of HR and fully understands the challenges of a corporate human resources organization, as well as the requirements of a successful Affirmative Action Program. Her strong Human Resource/Affirmative Action background allows her to effectively manage the sales and marketing process while assisting clients in their decisions regarding their affirmative action plan needs and requirements.
SUSAN L. ABBONDANTE, MANAGER, PROJECTS AND COMPLIANCE
Ms. Abbondante is the Manager, Projects and Compliance with THOMAS HOUSTON associates, inc., and has over 30 years experience as a human resources professional, including 10 years in various corporate functions. Prior to joining THA, Ms. Abbondante was a Human Resources Manager for a high-tech company. In her 21 years with THA, she has successfully managed over 1,000 projects from inception to completion. This includes single and large clients with multiple locations. In addition, she has worked on over 200 OFCCP compliance evaluations and participated in on-site meetings with the OFCCP. She fully understands the challenges of a corporate human resources organization, as well as the requirements of a successful Affirmative Action Program. Her strong organizational and interpersonal skills allow her to effectively manage the process and work with all levels of staff and management personnel in order to ensure the project is completed in a timely manner. Ms. Abbondante also develops and conducts affirmative action training programs for supervisory, management and human resources professionals.
